What diameter hose for CCV mod??

I'm wondering what size hose (diameter and length) to get to vent the vapors to the atmosphere? I bought the machined plug from a member on here. I'm guessing all i need is to install the plug with a hose clamp and run the hose out to the back of the truck?

I went to Lowe's and bought 10 feet of the 1"id clear tube. It has a white/silver webbing in the tube

Ok now I'm confused. How can both 1 inch and 5/8 be used for the same application?

I used 3/4" hose. I inserted it on the inside of the original hose coming out of the manifold, put a hose clamp on it, and tightened it until I couldn't easily pull the house out.

I looked at the 1" hose, but it's huge and was somewhat expensive. The 3/4" hose was somewhat of a pain to route in the engine compartment, so I would imagine the 1" would be even tougher.
