Buying a FICM
I am thinking about buying a used FICM. It is off another year 6.0 Mine is an 05 and I believe it is coming off of a 04. Will it work on my truck? does the strategy change? I believe it has the Atlas 40 on it, does that change anything?

Yes all 03-07 FICM are interchangeable, you might get a U0306 reference code for the strategies (programming) don't match, but won't effect drivability.

The U0306 DTC is a mismatch between the RCM and FICM strategies. This code is more of a reference code and is NOT an indication of anything that will affect driveability, so there is no real concern. In order to eliminate the DTC, you must use the correct FICM strategy with the correct ECM strategy. The relationship is as follows: 2003 Model Year: ECM: VXAxxxx FICM: 2003 FICM Strategy 2004 Model Year: ECM: VXBxxxx FICM: 2004 FICM Strategy 2005+ Model Year: ECM: VXCxxxx FICM: 2005+ FICM Strategy |

Dever02, You might want to consider the possibility of popping your head gaskets with the atlas 40 and Vivian's Looney Tune if your not already studded. Just a concern to watch for. I know that they say it's safe for stock bolts but I would be weary about advancing fueling anymore than it currently is with stock bolts and the Looney Tune.
