Thumbs up 4" or 5" straight pipe

Hello fellow strokers. I have an 07 super duty, completely stock. Im looking into getting a straight through pipe, no cat no muffler. But i do not know which one, 4 or 5 inch. I plan on doing some other mods as well, s&b intake and cfm+ intake elbow. Later on i would like to get an upgraded trubo and injecters. I have also been looking at a programmer.

Ok after hearing me out what size do you think would be right for me? Thanks guys!

You dont think i would need to worry about egts. If you dont have alot of mods done is it bad to have a 4 or 5 inch pipe? What do you think about straight pipin?

worry about egt's? Bigger exhaust will lower them, especially turbo back. It is NEVER bad to have a 4" turbo back exhaust and I highly suggest losing the muffler and cat cuz you'll love the way it sounds.

yes you need to worry about EGT's -- but thats why you get an EGT guage (along with boost, and trans temp)

the diff in EGT btwn a 4" or 5" won't be that great a difference...

and LOTS of people love the straight pipe sound!

Ok so 4" sounds like the way to go. How much power would you have to be pushing to actually need a 5".
