How hard or rough are you on your 5-speed automatic transmition?
What do you pull w/yours, how many miles so far on stock trany?
Do ya think I should get a true trany guage instead of the stock one?
Just wondering if I should start saving for a ATS or a BTS trans. Will my trany hold up to a high preformance chip or programmer?
What do you or your friends have?
The STC power programer will give me 450 horse power and 990 lbs tourk

dont have a 5speed but you should def start saving for one....
def get a tranny gauge because the stockers dont work worth crap
and SCT is the way to go but with supporting mods (intake, exhaust) youll prob only be around 400hp 650-700ftlbs of torque to the wheels at the most..... prob less

I was only going by the specs on the SCT web site for the numbers.
I really want to know what people are towing w/this tork shift 5-speed auto. trany and how many miles they have so I can get a good out look on what I'm in for.

I have almost 80k on mine and it is still holding up very well.

Seems the torqueshift is a much better trans then the 4R100. I have yet to hear of many problems, but doens't mean there isn't issues with them

i rag the hell outta mine all 50k of it so far and its perfect but sct is safer in the tranny

I work at a Ford/GM dealer, and we rarely see any Torq-Shift problems. With that said, my truck is lifted on 35's and I tow a 14K pound trailer. 36K miles so far with no problems.

And FWIW the Torq-Shift is a 5 speed plus overdrive transmission. And it can overdrive 3rd, 4th, or 5th gears depending on demand. So technically, its an 8 speed transmission.
