just ordered a pyrometer and was wondering where everyone is installing theirs

Not hard at all. It's on the driver's side exhaust manifold.

dumb question is the up pipe also the pipe that goes into the egr cooler and all that

Interesting Thread .. For some reason I thought the EGT probe went on the Down pipe ?

Thats the only place i have ever seen them(till i got on this site) but i did work on tractor trailers for 5 years so..... Mack and KW had them right behind the turbo, i was told it went there incase the probe ever broke it wouldnt go thru the turbo and blow that to bits
