I think DJ limits the boost in his files to help prevent head bolts from stretching. His street tune only runs about 20psi as well on my truck. The looney is in the same psi ballpark as you guys are seeing too.

Question Is..........How long do you expect to run with that much boost before something gives way??? I would certainly want some extra INSURANCE before I run that much boost for an extended period of time. Keep an eye open on them temps!!

My heads are studded and EGR blocked at the up-pipe, but the highest any of my files boost are 32psi... That's the innovative Xtreme race, and my EGT's seem more in check with that file too. I think the extra air helps keep it down.

hmmm.. seems like the higher power the tune, the less boost you see.

on stock programming i could hit 32 psi all the time. on my aggressive files i usually only see about 22-24psi until i get into overdrive with the t/c locked. on the hiway with it locked i can load it up and get 28-30 psi.

i think part of the reason for this is that boost is highly determined by the amount of load of the engine. a stock motor is working way harder to accellerate a heavy truck up to speed, so it's really loaded up.

on the race files, the engine doesnt really even break a sweat tackling an on ramp, so the load isnt high, and the boost isn't either.
