Banks Six Gun

I was looking at the banks six gun with the speed loader and wondering what everyones thoughts are on this product compared with SCT or hypertech. What gains have people that are using this product seeing in HP, Torque and MPG?

Do you have a specific reason for looking at the Banks? IMHO the SCT is the only way to go for the 6.0L. It is the best tuner for the motor and the tranny. I am sure there will be more folks come along and give their view on the subject as well. Good luck on your search for information.

Well, to be honest I want it for two reasons...1.) to be different (haha) and 2.) I like the easy switch instead of a big console for the tuning.

That is the only drawback for the SCT is no switching "on the fly" but the SCT not only tunes the motor but it also tunes the tranny. I honestly do not believe you would be happy if with the Banks if you ever got to experience a custom-tunes SCT truck and then had to get back in a Banks truck. IMHO there is no comparasion, but that is just me. I mean you can look at my profile and see what custom SCT tuning can do for a onewheelwonder truck. I mean after all "Its just a GRANNY TRUCK"

I have had the 6 gun, and there is no comparrison. Go Custom tunes on a SCT, all the way.

it can also be programmed to turn on your engine fan a few degrees sooner to keep things cooler, faster.

also, you can have your TC programmed to lock in on accel and decel, EGR cancel, extreme tow haul mode too.

i still have all the other parts of my banks big hoss bundle, but the 6 gun is no more.

sct xcal2....everyone runs it for a reason. If banks was that good everyone would run that....

Banks is good stuff for the guy that just wants some extra power and has no plans on being competitive at anything. If you want some better power for a better price, SCT.

if you have lots of money, and little respect for your vehicle, then by all means go with the banks. it is easy, it shifts on the fly.

BUT. if you dont want to throw money down the drain, then get the SCT. there IS a reason we tell you this. it is safer. it is faster. it is more tunable. it is cheaper.

you won't regret it man. do it the right way if you are going to do it at all
