SCT or EDGE???
ok so after a lot of research on here everyone on here is pro sct. no problems with that, i just purchased an 06 F250 with a diablo preditor on it...mind you this is my first diesel and i ran across this site...first things first diablo is out gonna sell it on craigs list...I thought that i had figured out that i was gonna buy a sct livewire for the gauges an all, then i run across the edge juice with attitude cts. now i'm leaning that way custom tunes, change on the fly, plus you can adjust the shift points which is what i really liked about the livewire I cant really tell the difference between the two other than cts has a nicier touch screen and you can change on the fly unlike sct. both have gauges, just ones fancier...both change shift points and firmness...both are able to custom tune...am i missing something here i dont wanna start a pi$$in match here but which one should i go with? my truck came with cold air intake, and arp head studs...the truck goes in tomorrow for 4" turbo back straight exhaust...oh and it doesnt have any gauges in it...thats why i'm leaning towards cts or livewire. thanks and this is my first post total newbie here thanks...Hoogie...

Where are you gonna get custom tunes for the Edge
![]() The only person I can think of is Bill at PHP... can't remember if he can tune the attitude module!?!?!?! If yes, then I kinda like the idea of getting custom tunes from him AND being able to use the same programer for gauges. If not, then I go with SCT |

Oh and custom tunes on the Edge will get rid of the "on the fly shifting" option also... There is NO good Shift on the fly tuners available for the 6.0's!!!

My question is how much transmission tuning is capable of being done with the Edge product?
Without good transmission tuning the 5R110 can be hit or miss, with performance and longevity. I still recommend the SCT X3 with Insight CS/CTS for this reason. Full custom tunes that are proven, and solid monitoring that can be expanded to keep everything the 6.0L needs. |

I don't think the newer edge can eliminate egr function. Belive 06 will throw a code when this is done.

I wish you could get custom tunes in the cts That would be nice but I haven't heard of any such thing. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist though I suppose. I've used the tunes on my cts and they aren't bad but it can be very harsh on the tranny on extreme so do be careful if you go that route. You'll find that people on these forums are set in way they will tell you works and doesn't work and blah blah blah. Truth is most of them haven't tried anything but sct. No question for a modified truck sct is the king but I don't see any issues with a mostly stock truck using the edge just don't abuse the truck with it on extreme for sure! If you aren't power hungry and you drive with some sense I don't see any issues going with the edge it's monitoring features are fantastic!
