changing sct tunes with edge installed.
I use the edge as gages have set on 0. but everytime I change tunes I have to disconnect the edge completly from truck then change tunes and have to hook up. does anybody else have this problem. It is a pain in the a@@ to disconnect the edge with all the wires and harness. talking about changing tunes on the sct. I get some kind of alarm on the sct about pcm not unlocking or something like that.

I think I read somewhere that even with the Edge on zero it still changes parameters between the PCM and sensors and stuff and thats why you are having problems However I am no expert so here is a bump!

the edge unit will still cause issues even when set on ZERO !!!
please guys, please take those things out of your trucks BEFORE they end up costing you tons of money ! even on stock setting they alter timing, and modify the signals your truck gets, they will most definitely cause performance loss when the electronics start going haywire. get a set of gauges and stick with the SCT. |

I am looking at get the livewire but need to sell the edge. I was happy with the edge until I got the sct, and now I will be pulling a trailer and want it easy to just plug in the sct and switch tunes but with the edge hooked up I have to completly unhook the edge switch tunes and hook it back up to get my gages, I have no performance problems that way. Another ? where is people mounting the livewire since it is so big.

i run the edge evo as gauges and sct for tunes and have no problems. have had it like this for about 3 months now and no problems what so ever. edge told me it was fine to run it like that. i like the edge monitor better than gauges. i think its easier to read and you can monitor a whole lot more.

the juice module is an "inline" module that hooks up under the hood between the the ecm and the other ford computers. it is constantly intercepting the signals and modifying them. even on zero it still leaves it's own bit of flavor to the stew. and once the unit starts to act up (and it will) then it will really cause headaches (even on stock setting) again, your evo is not the unit that i refer to when i bash the edge. |
