MTW Stage 2 and 155/30 injectors
Ok,
So I have installed the replacement injectors from Warren Injection. all went well. after that I had this nice turbo sitting on the bench from MTW. Installed and drove. first things first. I was using Gearheads SRL+ tune for stock injectors and stock turbo. right off the bat the boost seems builds way quicker and feels much stronger. On freeway if I rolled into it in 5th the boost would be up over 25 very fast at 1/4 throttle. EGT's seem lower so far on the short trip. I gave it the wood for a few seconds and it did not go over 1450 where before I was seeing 15-1600. I have called Gearhead and am waiting for the new tunes to show up in my mail. I ordered Tow tunes from him as well this time |

This is the exact setup I was shooting for, do you plan on putting it on the rollers any time soon?

The Stage 2 is such a beautiful turbo. I just REALLY like how much larger the mouth is on that turbo in comparison to the stock turbo.

the only dyno I know is a dynapack which attaches to the hubs and I use it for my race car so I dont think he has adapters for the truck. |

Congrats on the new turbo. That's the sucker Ford should have put on these trucks from the beginning. Good show man.

yeah just driving around with the wife and kid I notice it takes less effort to get the same speeds.
anything over 1/4 throttle and the kid is in the back telling me I am going fast and to go faster it pulls much harder. I can't wait to get the tunes Larz at gearheads said should be by Monday night but said he would try and push me up cause I am already a customer and need it for the truck to run right. when I am in park and I whack the throttle it takes 5-7 seconds for it to come down and when I am off the throttle moving you can hear the injectors trying to figure out what to do. |

This would be a future setup for me, if I can get the numbers to support it towing heavy.
I know you are still working at getting new tuning files and getting this running right. Do you tow much/often? If so, any feedback on the towing performance would be great. Boost, EGT's, load, etc? As for your current issues, may want to check your fuel pressure with the new injectors, if you can. Just a thought to go with the tuning. |

I will be towing next month I think.
24 foot enclosed trailer with race car ad tools so I think I am right around 10k I tow during the racing season mostly. I do end up picking up cars here and there during the off season. I wanted to keep the truck tow happy and still have a fun DD truck. I did the blue spring and 6.4 banjo's when I had heads off but I would agree a fuel pressure gauge is needed. I have been running a bully dog outlook monitor I have had for years and have been thinking of upgrading to the edge CTS or maybe someones old livewire as I use SCT for my tuner |
