Ca smog tune sct

I have a blocked uppipe, so cel on for no flow if on stock tune.

To pass smog, can I put SCT on economy canned tune with egr off, or will the ca smog test see that it isn't stock?

Or can I "return to stock, with egr off" using the SCT?

Or should I just pay my tuner to write a smog tune...

Please respond with your EXERIENCE, not just guessing, since this will cost me money if you are Wrong. Thanks guys!

I was smogged in 8/11 just visual of cat and egr components, no obd2 plug in. They are required to plug into your obd2 and look for a check engine light now?

Yes scanning for codes is a requirement from my understanding.

I am not sure if you can shut the EGR with the SCT handheld and not throw a code but a tuner I know can write you a tune that is stock but with the EGR completely out so there is no CEL.

Does the smog test know if u have stock file vs tune by plugging into obd???

Mine passed with my EGR valve welded shut and my cooler blocked off. I ran it with ID Extreme Street installed. My muffler and cat are still in place.

there are places like this all over CA. Find a chinamen or a pisa with a smog banner outside their shop.

I told them I was recommend by a muffler shop that was very close to the gas station/smog shop, that may have helped as it probably made him feel better about taking my money and just getting me in and out knowing I was sent over by someone he trusted a few doors away.

This is why I haven blocked my up pipe ,, I am waiting for AZ to do the OBD on Diesels vs the visual and Opacity .. it is My understanding that they can't yet read the CAN system ??

Right now I can go back to stock or pass with Matt's SRL tune that turns off the egr valve but I have it in place and plugged in ..

I bet they aren't savy enough..YET.. to see what tune your running
