POWERMAX INFO:::
I started this theard since the other one went off topic and I wanted members to get the info I have gathered.
As many may know I have been playing with some Powermaxs. I have modded 2 so far and have one more comming. I have been switching the 10 blade turbine wheel with the 13 blade. I will give out more info when I get feedback for the owners, on how the powermax runs after the mod. One guy does alot of towing and didn't like the way power came on and the dead spot.
I don't think he had injectors in his truck or might have had 155, I'll get the story from him, I haven't modded that turbo yet. One powermax that is modded is for a member on here and when they get the truck back together thay can write a reveiw.
So, anyway here is what I found out can you swap out the powerstroke stock wheel for the 10 blade powermax wheel ? NO, the powermax has the same size wheel, but is about .50 thousand higher at the inducer. Whats that mean, well the vanes and the unison ring will sit lower and the actuator arm for unioson ring will not be able to actuate the ring to move the vanes.
So what 13 blade turbine I'm I using that has the the right dimensions, the Duramax turbine wheel, they are exactlly the same except for the blade numbers.
Ok that's all I have for now, Ill keep bring more info on turbos as I find more and more things out. Thanks, MAD
