Edge Egt Sensor Install Question

So I currently have the sct 9600 installed & the egt sensor installed. Well today I ordered a new edge insight cts and egt sensor my question is will it hurt anything to just unscrew the old egt sensor from the manifold and screw in the new one. Or will I need to take some extra steps to do it all correctly?

As long as the two probes use the same fittings, you shouldn't have any issue. Unless the probes are differnent diameters, in which case you may need to thread the new fitting in the manifold.

Ya I looked into that says they both are 1/8 inch fitting so should be good on that part I hope.

You'll know for sure when you look at them, but I'm not expecting any difficulty.

I'm also thinking about selling the entire sct package and just going with the SCT SF3, how hard would it be to transfer all my tunes over to that?

I'm pretty sure the tunes are written so they only work with your programer, you will have to get with whoever wrote your tunes to get them changed to work on a new tuner. I'm sure someone will chime in that knows for sure.

You are correct. The tune writers lock the tune to the serial number on the SCT device. They will only work on that device.

I wonder what they will charge to convert the tunes over to the new programmer?
