ADII DF-165 took a dump on me

And left me stranded in upstate NY today. Got the truck all loaded up tp go home to Md. and when I went to syart the truck had NO fuel pressure. Called Pureflow at like 1:30pm and was told they couldn't shop a replacement until tomorrow so I'm down till sometime Thurs. I took the pump apart and everything looks like new. Changed the filters just to rule them out but no change. Oh well, more down time.

Man, that sucks! You would think that there was something they could do to keep you running. Not only are you on a trip away from home, but you are also a staff member for the largest Powerstroke forum in the world!

Mitch,

As I told you when we spoke on the phone - if you need me to call my buddy and ask him if he still has his AD system I can overnight you the pump, not sure if he still has it just got rid of his diesel for ecoboost but I think he still has everything.

Just let me know - it sounds like you have it under control as always though

Todd

Mitch are you still using the airdog harness that came with the pump?

Yes I am. I have it spliced in to the factory pump's power line instead of going to the fuse block with their fused trigger.

Did the motor die? Try ohming it out? I got the 150 just because of that incase the 2 would die and leave me stranded. Good luck with it Mitch

I wonder if
That had something to do with your dyno runs at php

I had the motor fail on my pump and when it did it melted some of my airdog harness. The airdog harness is has too much voltage drop to run 16 or 17 amps constantly. They use 14awg from the batt to the relay to the motor. Do some research for a 20amp draw and a total wire length of roughly 20ft you need a minimum of 10 awg. I made up a new harness when I got my new pump from them and now my pump is incredibly quiet and I haven't had a problem since. I will get a short video of it running, the oem vacuum pump is louder then my airdog. I run a constant 65 psi drop about 2psi wot. I would bet airdog uses the same wiring harness for every pump. You wont run into problems with a lower amp draw using an airdog1. Just my thoughts. I find it very hard to believe your problem would be anything other then the motor.
