4" Turbo back exhaust?
I have a stock (other than a PHP Eco Tune FICM) 2004 F250. I am wanting to go with 4" Turbo Back Exhaust because I have heard of the good performance, power and improved MPG. My question is will this bolt right in or will I need a tuner? Will the swap cause the CEL to kick on? would a straight install on a stock truck cause any other problems? Has anyone done this?
Thanks, |

I run my 05 from time to time with the stock tuning and I don't have a issue with my Magnaflow 4" turbo back. I don't have CAT but I do use the MagnaFlow muffler. I also have a Banks CAI, Banks Technicooler, PowerMax for goodies and none of that has caused a issue while under stock tuning. I also use BulletProof EGR cooler so I do have a function EGR valve. I also use Fords lastest flash the VXCF9

Just recently put a MBRP 4" Turbo back with Cat delete on my 05, hardest part was getting the old off the rubber hangers. Bolted up easy, sounds great too! You don't need to have anything done to add an exhaust.

the only engine that you will need a tuner for straight piping is the 6.4l because of the dpf, I straight piped mine with a 4inch system before tuning and not a problem I recommend if your going to tune it put the exhaust on first and then tune so you dont have to have it rewritten

I just recently installed a 4" TB Diamond Eye with cat & muffler delete. Absolutely no issues afterwards as well as it was a direct fit.

I also just had an MBRP S6212AL 4" turbo back with Cat delete put on. No problems at all, looks and sounds great. I hope it helps with MPG, HP and lower EGT, like I told my wife it would.

Next I hope to get the OK for an SCT SF3 3015 to get the fan to turn on sooner to help with cooling and other assorted "reasons". Sorry.

Thanks for the feed back guys. I just purchased me MBRP 4" Turbo Back (CAT & Muffler Delete) Exhaust. It should be here Wednesday. I will take pics of the install.
New question: Has any body wrapped their pipe coming down from the turbo or any part of the exhaust? Is this recommended? I read it helps lower temps under the hood. |
