Ran at the track today
I'm very pleased with how my truck did today. I was running my Hercules ficm tune and looney race file along with Erics xtreme race. I'll post up my time slip tommaro. I made to good passes at 13.7 and 13.8. A couple other 14.00 runs. I was running stock size tires. No studs 185k on motor. Definitely surprised a few people !

The 6.0 head bolts are a lot stronger than people think. The main reason heads go is because of a chain reaction event such as oil cooler clogging, the egr cooler flash boiling, erupting sending coolant into the motor blowing the heads. Don't run it hard 24-7 like some people and they will last. Other than than good job on the times. I want to run mine one day.

Those are some good times for your setup. Once you start getting into the real power (turbo, injectors, fuel, etc.) is when you really get addicted to the hell these trucks can raise. But remember the old saying: "you got to pay to play" so add your power safely.
"Theirs never enough money to do it right the first time but always enough to half *** it twice."

Haha I've been addicted for a while but I'm not doin anymore than what I got. I like the reliability of my setup right now. Here's the time slips I circled my runs.

Pretty cool numbers, let's here it for 100K mile OEM bolts!
![]() I ran on a 4000ft ASL track, down lower, say 1200ft, these numbers would be a little better, 13.7~13.5-ish. r/t______.095 60'______1.877 (better than my 67 Mustang, grrrr!) 330'_____5.622 1/8______8.804 MPH_____76.94 1000'____11.568 (SUCK IT, John Force!) 1/4______13.898 ('67 goes 13.5) MPH_____96.68 ('67 crosses at 103, so I won't shoot my horse, yet!) My truck is an extended cab on 35s with 3.73s and BASIC mods: AiRaid filter, Blue spring, 3.5"DP/4"straight pipe, SRL tune. On further examination, I may have to try this again. I had a slight advantage over your slips through 1000ft, somewhere between 1000ft and the stripe I give up a tenth or so. Last edited by Karls03; 07-15-2012 at 07:54 AM. |
