FICM problems, rebuild or buy new?
I started noticing some FICM failure symptoms over the past couple weeks( unexplained throttling, slow/ rough starts, light smoking on a stock exhuast) and immediately began researching what to do. Buying new seems easy but I could run into the same problems again, with long hauling between NC & PA! Or I found a rebuild tech on ficmrepair.com, they seem legit and for a quarter the price seem like a better plan, anyone ever use them before and is it really this easy to correct the problem. The 6.0 seems to be a domino failer, once one thing goes you have a list of problems???

Have you looked at the Bullet Proof Diesel's FICM? If not, you should check it out.

Mines just ate it as well and i contacted ed at ficmrepair.com shipped it to him and had it back fast. He fixed my FICM and put on PHP atlas tune. Real great guy and even talked to me about other fail ponts. My vote is ED at FICMrepair.com

I had mine rebuilt by Ed as well. Good guy, really good service. I got the two year warranty. I sent it to Ed on a Monday and had it back that Thursday. Haven't seen it drop below 47 since, and that was in either Feb or March I had it fixed.

If it were me. Id either look at the Bulletproof FICM. Or Eds.
Both are great options. BPD's product is virtually indestructible Ed's a great guy. Met him a couple months ago |

I recently had mine repaired by Ed. Had the upgrade service done and the Atlas 40 put on it. I can not say enough good things about his service. From out of the truck to back in was 4 days. Truck starts much better, voltages stay constant and the Atlas 40 made a noticeable difference in the low end power. I do not have any other tunes yet though so if you are already tuned you may not notice as large of a difference.
I would recommend Ed to anyone needing a repair and I don't think I have seen anything but praise for his service. To me that says something and is why I went with him. |
