MTW stage2 vs Powermax review

Today I got my Mtw stage2. After work I went on ahead and removed and replaced the powermax with the Mtw stage2 by Adrian. Install was easy and everything fell into place as if it was OEM.

First start up, the intake was louder and the exhaust was quiet with a cleaner burning fuel smell. Once I left my house keep in mind I was babying the throttle I said eff it and gave it some throttle, the truck took off like a bat out of hell. Literally I seriously haven't felt the response like that when running the pmax. Took it on the fwy and floored it and the speedo moves pretty darn fast. While maintaining speed and once you touch the pedal the truck responds with a quickness and feels a lot lighter than before with the pmax.

As far as sound the pmax sounds killer it has a ear piercing whistle that sounds awesome.

The mtw stage2 has a different tone hard to explain lol it's from all the air it's sucking in. I'll make some vids this weekend..

The pmax in my opinion is a great turbo, however you need to spend tons of money to find a good tuner and from the tunes I purchased, Chris at truck source pretty much hands down has the best powermax tune available. Only his tune can spin the tires on the powermax everyone else's just bogggggggs.

I haven't had much drive time yet to my stomach flu to see if the egts are that big of a difference, however driving on the fwy at 75mph I saw 700 egt with the stage 2.

Overall winner IMO is the stage2. Hands down it feels like more power and the response is amazing. If you guys need any test please ask away. And this turbo has yet to learn can't wait for that to happen

I'm thinking about going with the Stage 2. Waiting to see which injectors I want to go with or just stay stock.

Nice review ODAWG714. Glad to see you noticed a nice difference.

I have tunes for my Powermax from Eric, Vivian, Matt, and Chris and my personal experience is that any of my tunes will burn the tires off pretty easily.

Are you still running with stock sticks?

Just to be clear here.......Wasn't it a given that the Little Boy (AKA stateII) would woop up on the PMAX and that the Durastroke(StageI) is the PMAX competitor?

think the review was more for people with 175's and up that are currently running a powermax to see how they compare

Considering he just started a thread a few weeks ago about PMAX review with stock sticks I'm assuming he's still on stock sticks. Which I like for right now, I'd like to see how this turbo does pulling up some mountains with a good tow...Any plans to test that ODAWG?
