S&B intake questions?

I just installed the S&B intake on my 03 6.0. I bought my truck with a hacked up custom CAI which had no stock parts on it. My new intake has a whole for the stock airfilter restriction gauge but I have no grommet to stick it in there with, can I just leave this unplugged or removed from the vehicle?

You should be able to just go to a ford dealer and buy the grommet for a few bucks.

I guess you could leave it unplugged. I would just go to a hardware store and buy one for less than a $1. JMO. But to answer your question, the truck will run fine without it.

Whatever you decide, PLEASE cover up the hole or install the filterminder. If you don't, you can suck in debris that WILL go through your turbo. "Dusting" can and will take out your turbo and could damage your engine.

I dont know if his S&B is the same as mine (I presume they are) but my filterminder doesnt do a damn thing because the hole where it is mounted is outside of the filter. I just have a grommet there to hold the filterminder.

Ah, good call... I wasn't actually thinking about WHERE the filterminder was in the intake flow. It's before the filter, so it OBVIOUSLY wouldn't matter since that air would get filtered.

I agree. Don't leave it open.
