exhaust help

i just picked my 05 6.0 from the shop. had new hg and studs put in, egr cooler and valve delete, new oil cooler, hpop, and a turbo cleaning. now i want to change up my exhaust a little. i dont want anything real loud do to the fact that we drive my truck more than my wifes tahoe and i have a 2 year old and a new born that sleep while we are in the truck for a while. i want lower egt and for the truck to breath better. what difference would it make to jut put in a cat delete pipe with the stock muffler. i done mind if it changes the sound a little i just dont want that loud drone at highway speeds.

Just cut out muffler and cat and add straight pipe in place. Should have less of that drone then with a 4 or 5" exhaust.

The stock muffler is also very restrictive, I dont think you would see much gain at all just getting rid of the cat. You can pick up a budget kit for pretty cheap these days, its not really worth hacking up your stock kit. Below is a link to a budget kit with a muffler. Use code MBRP15 in the cart for 15% off the price shown.

MBRP S6212P 4" Turbo Back Single EC/CC F250/F350 03-07 (Perf)

You will know the truck has an aftermarket kit on it, but its by no means loud. It will have a nice, low, rumble.
