Banks Monster Exhaust cat delete
I am thinking about getting the Banks monster exhaust since it looks like the quietest one out there. It appears to be a cat back system with a larger downpipe. I don't think Banks sells a cat delete pipe, so my question is will the MBRP or one of the other cat delete pipes bolt up to the Banks?

run a farmboy or mbrp kit and use there free flow muffler, and a cat delete pipe, it ill sound good but not be too loud in the cab

I'm looking for not any louder than stock at all, though. I don't care about the better sound. Silence is the best sound for me.
I just want a bigger exhaust to keep EGTs in check so I can start running my Looney tune every day.

ill bet ya that the $700 dollar banks kits is just as loud as the competitors,

I talked to a couple guys that had it, and they said it's very quiet. Banks claims it's no louder than stock.
My concern with the MBRP is the drone at highway speeds. I found the banks kit on Ebay for $570 shipped, so it's not really any more expensive than the other kits. It comes with a downpipe and cat back system, so the only thing is I would have to find my own cat delete pipe. If there really isn't anything thing that makes the same amount or less noise than stock, I'd rather stick with the stock exhaust and just rely on the water/meth kit I'm ordering soon to keep EGTs in check. I'm REALLY anal about noise. LOL |

I guarantee you if you listen to the radio, have a wife or coworker or kid that talks, or even a slightly windy day - you won't even know the exhaust is different than stock....heck, even having the AC on covers up any exhaust note at 70-80 mph -- other than taht its as quiet inside the cab as stock...
My wife didn't even notice a difference until I turned EVERYTHING off and said listen .... we both had a hard time telling a difference, but there was a SLIGHT diff at 75 MPH |

when you delete the cat it will unleash most of the sound, those claims are probably with cat in place, but if you wish to go with banks, as long as yur goin to a 4" system im pretty sure any of the cat delete pipes from the major manufactures will work ...ie. mbrp, bullydog, ect

with the cat and the sound -- but heck, you can get a SS exhaust 4" turbo back for $345 from FBD

MANY people have a FBD system - westcoaststrokin is one I know of off the top of my head...but
if you want to know who/what he uses -- just send him a PM or post that question in his vendor forum |
