EGT too high on Vivian's looney???

I was merging back into traffic from the side Of the road so I put the hammer down and when I looked I saw 1400* on EGT it wasn't there long could I have caused problems or is it ok for brief periods and anyone else seen EGT that High in her looney???

1400* for a short amount of time is nothing to worry about. My looney runs hotter than any of my other tunes. I can see 1600* fairly quick if I put it to the floor and keep it there.

Ok awesome would it be safe to haul my motorcycle and maybe another 1000 lbs so maybe 2000 - 2500 total on the looney

Lots of people will advise against towing or hauling with a race/performance tune. That being said, many guys (myself included) have towed some decent sized loads with a hot tune loaded. You have to keep a sharp eye on your gauges (especially egt) and adjust your right foot accordingly. I wouldn't bat an eye at throwing on 1-2K and taking off with my looney tune.

Mine too the floor through all gears sees 1300+, runs about 800-900 running 80 down highway.

Spikes of 1400-1600* are okay, but you want to keep it below 1200* for extended periods.

I did a WOT run with my truck from 20-100mph and saw EGTs as high as 1800F with my SPD tune.

I am sure having 190/100s had something to do with that but I also have a Spearco Intercooler and a larger than stock turbo.

I have noticed that my truck is now faster than or as fast as my old mustang I traded for the truck. Vivian's looney is wicked fast any 1/4 mike times on her tune

I just got the looney from Vivian the other night...it's like a completely different truck. Much better response, much smoother shifting, and will even suck you into the seat when you hammer it. I can't imagine what it'll be like once I get studs, bigger sticks and a bigger turbo under there too.
