turbo noise

In my work truck it is a 06 F350 dually the turbo whistle is alot louder than my truck an is same year...actually it seems my turbo is quiter than all other PSD'S....i get 28-29 psi on my street tune and 24-25 on my looney....Why would it be quieter than my work truck or other trucks of the same year....

What is the trim level of your work truck and the trim level of your personal truck? XL? XLT? LARIAT? KING RANG? ....

I know our XL F450 was 10x's louder in the cab then my stepdad's XLT F250. I use them as comparison instead of mine b/c I haven't had the stock exhaust in forever so I don't know what it sounded like now LOL.

The lower models likely have less sound insulation.

so i'm not the only one that sees less boost on the higher settings.

i think alot of people see less boost on the high performance tune...work truck is a xl f350 and my truck is a xlt f250...even with the windows down and when i had my buddy drive my truck by then my work truck it still seemed louder...cant wait till i get my aftermarket turbo then i wont have to worry about being able to hear it good....

You do want to keep the heads on the block for more then one pass don't you?
The tuners can go a BIT more extreme then that... once your studded - get a new tune that will blow your mind I know a guy from the buck locally that studded his truck and is spraying nitrous and gained 60hp on just a new tune that wasn't worried about blowing the head gaskets.

I guess this supports what I said.
XL = louder
XLT = not as loud

Am I right?

I do think the base models have a few less asthetic items since they're normally used for work.

heads are pretty secure. i've never even had a "puke" ..
i've run 30+ psi consistently when i used to have the edge juice on it, motor can handle it fine.
now with sct and a cat delete i see much less boost, even though the truck feels faster.
have arp studs, so i'm not worried about lifting a head.

I have an xl 350, mine didnt have any of that foil insulation on the stock down pipe like some other trucks do. That might be why the xl are louder inside.

i had none of that foil on mine either, but it was never loud that i can recall.
