Deltas N Puking
Ok, a bit of history......
For the past 50K miles I've ran Eric's Innov. Street Aggressive and Street Perform Tunes from 70K to present ~120K. Somewhere along the way i clogged the Oil Cooler and EGR went bad. Step 1 ~90K Replaced EGR with Bulletproof delete kit and changed Cooler, lower Degauss Level w Ford Gold. Mild Puking only when ran hard. Step 2 ~110K Replaced Cooler #2 Added MBRP T-Back, Kitty Del. 4.5" DR Lift 35" Nitto's Step 3 ~125K installed ScanGauge II learned about deltas and replaced Cooler #3 About this time I had a no start condition so replaced: Hpop, STC and ICP Cleaned Turbo upgraded both lines, installed Blue Spring. Step 4 Flushed n Flushed VC-9 Restore n Restore + changed over to ELC Deltas dropped to 6 - 8 Still Puking lightly when driven hard or tuned. Installed PSI Gauge to find out pressures were 16+ tuned or not. Step 5 Replaced Cooler #4 due to flushing plugged it up. ARP Studs, OEM Gask. Stand Pipes, Dummy Plugs, 6.4 Banjo's, Dfuser rear fuel hose Warren 155's stock Noz. 2 Rebuilt Heads & Eric's Street Extreme Tune. PSI 3-4 NO PUKING when DRIVEN HARD Step 6 Next Week...... Durastroke Turbo, Extreme X Tune, Snow Perf. Meth/Water Stg. II So, in conclusion over the past 4 years i've enjoyed driving a truck that had a minor problem all stemming from a failed EGR Cooler & Oil Cooler, it was mildly tuned and yet never diagnosed correctly as I was told numerous times the HG's were fine. I have no doubt the truck is the best it's ever been and can't imagine it being even better in 2 weeks. Stay tuned. D Last edited by colonel angus; 05-10-2012 at 06:34 PM. |

Why do you think the cooling system PSI dropped so much? Was it the old tune? Did you change coolant every time you changed oil coolers? Hard to believe there's enough crap in the system to clog up 4 coolers.

Saved the majority of the ELC coolant, to be filtered and reused.
This is what came out of the 2nd round of flushing..... ![]() This was after all the flushing and the first coolant filter change at 150 miles... ![]() So it's not to far a stretch to believe it could happen, could also be the source of a failed water pump. D |

It dropped because the HG's were no longer leaking into the coolant, replaced both with new reman's complete with valves and seals. And OEM Gaskets. Currently running the same tune, I.D. Eric's Extreme Street...
I doubt a really clean running engine would produce much more certainly not near 16 PSI and well within the degauss cap limit, which gets blamed for most hidden issues. d |

DANG that is a lot of stuff out of the first coolant filter. Ford put a new motor in my truck 5k ago and my first filter change didnt have much at all. Maybe they cleaned it out before they put it in??

3 - 4 it's always there once i stop and open the hood, not sure if jumps while in it or not.
will get one of the gauges that leaves the red max needle or has a hard reset and run it a few days. d |
