Just put 5" exhaust on

I just put a 5" exhaust by Diamond Eye on my '05. It has a 4" down pipe and no kitty and no muff.
It wasn't too bad doing it. Getting the old system was a little time consuming.
The part I had the hardest time with was clamping the down pipe to the turbo. The flange on the new pipe was a good bit thicker. This would not allow the clamp to squeeze over the joint enough to start the threads on the clamp's bolt.
My neighbor and I took turns... one below and the other yelling at the other to "hold it still!"
I ended up pulling it out and using a worn flap wheel on my angle grinder to take off just a little bit from the flange. It looked as if the machine rolled edge was just not as clean as it should be. The aluminized coating added a little more thickness. It gave me the little bit I needed.
The Diamond Eye used a 2 pc. down pipe and I don't see how it would work otherwise.
I used SS band clamps and would encourage everyone else to do so. This allows you to loosen and adjust / clock the joints to get clearence and angles just right.
This sounds really good. It goes from mellow to aggressive as you "apply the proper amount of force" on the loud peddle.
My wife and daughter giggle and won't quit asking me to drive it.

I have 6" tips on my duals and personally I don't think going bigger than that would look good but to each his own.

I put a 5" x 6" x 15" rolled edge on. I'm very happy with it. Anything bigger and my Rotty may try to stick his head in there to find what is making that wissling noise.
