185cc/100% RCD Injectors and Stock Turbo

Alright, so I'm about to purchase some RCD 185/100's and an AD 2 to run on my truck with the stock '03 turbo. Beginning in August, I will no longer be hauling anything, but this summer I need to haul my 35' gooseneck horse trailer about 2,000 miles before I'm done.

I plan on upgrading turbos eventually, to maybe a Little Boy or Big Boy from Adrian. I just don't have the cash right now, and I want to go ahead and upgrade while the truck is down (throwing a #6 injector code and my fuel pressure drops quickly at WOT).

I could get the RCD's for a great deal, or I could always go with 175/stock's from Warren. Would I be able to tow a few times with the 185's? Could I just get Eric or Matt tight the pw back in my tow tunes and get them to run like stock?

Would there be any MPG gains?

Just have your tuner pull a bunch of fuel out with the tow tune, and you should be good to go. Make sure you watch your EGTs

Yeah I talke to Eric, he seems to be pretty confident in tuning it for me. Gonna give his tunes a shot.

Just talked to Matt as well, he acts like its no big deal. LOL, why have people been saying you can't tow with big injectors? If this is the case, everyone should just go ahead and get 190's.

I just don't wanna find myself crawling up hills with my load, having to let off, because my EGT'S are going north of 1,300°.

its a waste, youre pulling the injectors anyways, might as well upgrade, then you have that much more potential at tap if you planned.

Honestly I dont know why people think you cant tow heavy with 190's...

You interest me there, what is your definition of towing heavy, and what makes you confident you can tow heavy with 190's on a stock or lightly modified turbo?

I towed a 16ft steel trailer with a horse in it with 190s and powermax on a RACE tune (not a street tune)....lol
