Livewire -vs- edge

I've been looking at programer/tuners. It seems like the livewire is a good choice for all the monitoring and programming. I sure like the guage graphics of the Edge. I tow a camper and would like to watch the egt's and tranny. Custom tune seems to be in the future. I would like to have the option to auto de-rate when something starts hitting a red-line.
Anyone have opinions and preferences?

If your looking to spend less, check out Craigslist,eBay, or the for sale section on this forum. You can typically pick up a used X3 for $250-$275 then add $100 to get custom tunes. I've seen Edge Insights CS on here for sale ($250-$300).

You can go cheaper on a monitor solution with a ScangaugeII and add analog EGT and Fuel psi gauge. Their is also the Torque app for android smart phones, then add analog EGT and Fuel psi. For iOS devices (iPhone,iPad,iTouch) their is the DashBoss.
