edge juice hot unlock???

Hi guys I was just wondering what the hot unlock does for the edge juice platinum/w attitude. I have mbrp turboback and an intake. The edge chip doesnt smoke that much. Will the hot unlock make it smoke more?

what year is your truck? and it will make it smoke a lil more but not crazy.... if you want to stick with Edge i would recommend the Evo.. im assuming you have a 6.0L... if you want a lot of smoke and great tunning than i would ditch the Juice and go with a SCT

Even if he has a 7.3 raul, he can still get custom tunes on an Xcal2 can't he? But yes, the SCT is the cats meow for the 6.0's

yes he can still get costume tuned xcal2 but if he has a 7.3l I would just recommend a DP or TS chip

its a 2006 6.0. I previously owned an 03 duramax. With the edge it smoked like crazy. Do I need to install head studs for better reliability, Also I have the latest version of the edge/juice platinum, does it tear up your tranny like people say. It has transmission control where it learns the transmission. It defuels on all shifts and I have the shifting set to firm shifting. Thanks, Doug

Im not a big fan of the Juice on either the 6.0 or 7.3L and that thing about burning up trannys... i believe any tuner will eventually do that... more power equals more stress on stock components so eventually no matter what tuner you get your gonna have to upgrade your tranny.....

I agree Raul. I ran the same setup in mine for 8,000 miles and bam tranny toasted cost me 7 grand for ford to replace and ya. Not good! But as far as tuners for the 6.0 sct is the way to go. edge is way over rated.

here's the thing. you may have a fuel problem because the edge juice will smoke like CRAZY even on 3-4-5 without the hot unlock code. on 5 my truck smoked like a locomotive. i would consider making sure your truck is up to snuff before modding it anymore, something doesn't sound right.

second. the guys are right, the edge juice is bad for your truck. i've had one, and i can tell you the SCT is WAAAYYYY better for the 6.0 in all aspects.
do not be deceived, edge does nothing to control the TCM or the "learning" of the transmission. all it does is defuel for shifting, but it has no ability to modify transmission controls like the SCT does. trust us on this please. i had the latest edge also, and i now have a 5500 dollar aftermarket tranny/converter because of it. (but well worth the money spent now)

please take this advice to heart and do the right thing for your truck.
