Head Studs... is there only 10 per head?

Hey,

Just asking this for my dad, we have recently started blowing some coolant out the overflow bottle so we are pretty sure the head gasket is going. So we bought ARP head studs to have installed, dealer is going to do them for us and fix the head gasket. My dad and I opened up the box of head studs and only found 20 studs which seemed like not a lot to us. I just wanted to double check with you guys and make sure there really is only 10 studs per head. Wish Ford would have added about 4 more per head, that would have helped hold stuff down. TIA

That is correct. It is 10 studs per head.

yes, there are 20 studs i have a box of them in front of me. and there are only 10 per head. why do you think we are all upgrading to stronger studs than stock bolts.

Thanks guys/gal, yeah they are doing it under warranty for my dad. Him and I both were surprised to see only 20 studs, I mean a SBC runs 17 bolts per head.

but have you seen how BIG they are ! ! ! those are some serious studs !!!
