Tunes and exhaust... Exhaust and tunes?

I told myself I wouldnt do it, but I'm tired of listening to my neighbors dmax, and before I am forced to line up w him I have a few questions. I am not studded and my deltas and so forth are all A OK. Should I do the exhaust before I get a tuner? or can I just run the tuner and worry about exhaust later? Just wanted input before I spend my money! Thanks guys!

If your going to run stock exhaust, at least cut the muffler and cat out.

Tunes first, exhaust later. I would say at least cut the cat, it is a straight shot for pipe, the muffler delete would have a few bends in it. Or just buy them both! Getting my exhaust on ASAP, but it is my DD so this weekend is the weekend to do it.

Exhaust first. Otherwise your going to get your custom tunes wrote for stock exhaust. Then have to get them rewritten.

Well I did it, ordered the SCT X3 from MKM. It came with three tunes from them. exhaust is coming in a week or two(buddy buying one of my firearms). I'm looking at the MBRP exhausts w out the cat. Do i need to worry about CEL w out the cat? Thanks for the info guys! And yes, after exhaust I will be seeking some more tunes from one of the writers recomended from the org!

No worries about the CEL. I lost my kitty a long time ago and never had a CEL. Oh and the muffler went as well. I love the sound of a straight piped 6.0L. I especially love the whistle of my Granny Truck. Congrats on your new toys.

no CEL from cat delete... careful with custom tunes ur EGT's might be higher until u chop that cat off. I have a 4inch DP to 5 inches straight piped and love it... also runnin a SCT livewire with custom tunes and my EGT's cruising are like 600-650... most i've seen was 1050 haulin *** up a bridge in deleware

If you don't have a EGT gauge, just be cautious on how long your at WOT.

As for the Dmax, depends on what he's had done to it, and from what I've read about MKM tunes compared to one of the more popular tune writers, the MKM tunes aren't as good.

mkm tunes run cool, you'll be alright. i have eco,65hp tow,and 105hp street. none of them will break 1200 degrees.

105hp street is slow as crap. doesn't hold a candle to Matts or Erics tunes
