Duramax 03
Would a 04 dmax with a pipe stage 1 tuner be able to beat an 05 6.0 with Matt's srl tune?

All I know it's a stage 1 ppe tune and he has a stock trans so I can't see it holding much more then 140 horse tune

If both trucks are the same body and drive configuration, the Ford should win that battle. Unless there is something the duramax driver is not telling you...

It would be close, but I think the 6.0 has it... if you get a good launch

I ran an 03 Dmax a couple years ago at a track day. He had a PPE hot tune, intake, and exhaust. Otherwise the it was a pretty much stock extended cab. IIRC my crew cab was almost half a second quicker in the 1/4. |

Does SRL lock the converter in 3-5? I would race people with extreme street and get beat up on but no one has beat me with x race, really the only difference between them is converter lockup but you will want that when racing

If he is running the stock tranny like you say, then he can't turn the PPE up very much without putting the piece of junk allison in limp mode. On top of that does he have tie-rod sleeves??? If he doesn't then he can't launch in 4wd either and it won't even be a race. You'll be coming back into the pit area will he's still coming down the track
![]() Even if he has sleeves and can launch in 4wd, I still put my vote on the 6.0 with the SRL. Assuming you are launching in 4wd |
