This all depends if he went to a dealer or a private shop. The dealer may have reflashed his PCM, the private shop may have used his SCT and loaded on one of his tow tunes.
If the private shop used his SCT to reprogram to a tow tune, then he's good to go with just programming in the Looney tune. If the dealer reflashed his truck, then his SCT already has his old stock file in the SCT. So if he were to try and load in the Looney, there is no place in the SCT to store the new stock file. The SCT will only hold one stock tune at a time. |

Just wanna clear up what I already posted.
He has the X-3, so If the dealer did reflashed his PCM, he should be able to reload his old stock tune. Then all should be good to go. |
