exhaust/mpg question

I see where all of the exhaust systems claim to raise your mpg but all I seem to see on here is a drop in mpg. I am not really looking for an increase but it would be nice, I just dont want to lose any.

If you don't change your driving style at all, your milage will go up with an exhaust...HOWEVER, that sound makes it awefully hard to keep your foot out of it...which is why you may experience a drop

I put a 4" turbo back exhaust with a free flow muffler, and I installed an intake elbow. I gained almost 2 mpg.

After putting exhaust on my 04 I didn't gain or lose much on mpg. I may have gained a hair if anything.

On long open road runs I have picked 3 to 4 mpg. Around town I haven't noticed any difference in mileage.

I gained here -- but is all dependent on how heavy your foot becomes after install

the sct made the biggest difference for me in mpg, and not long after that i added a downpipe upgrade and cat delete, and my mpg went back down.. go figure..
my buddy at the muffler shop told me i would lose mileage with no cat, but i've heard so many people here tell me otherwise that i did it. i'm one on the ones who's not convinced it helped my mileage, but it's not the reason i did it, the egt drop was more important to me than mileage. with the HP goals i have and what i use my truck for, mileage is not high on my list of needs, although it would be nice to get more than 10
