Question Exhaust

OK,
I have more ?'s-------LOL-----------
I have an 05 f450 that I bought new. I has about 100000 miles on it. I am wanting to try a cat delete pipe, My muffler is about shot so am thinking about just deleting it also. If I like it I will upgrade the exhaust later. Do you think there will be any improvement with stock exhaust -cat and muffler? will it be to loud?
Thanks Jack

well if you delete the kitty and muffler it should free up the flow a bit and lower your egts but i dont know if it will give you any noticable performance gains. Your tubo will probably spool a bit quicker. I dont know what you consider too loud but my 4" turboback straight pipe drones at 1500, quiet between 1600 and 2100 but more that 2100 it gets pretty rowdy.

Smile Idle

Thanks,
I am thinking of idle and low rpm as I leave for work at odd hrs and kind of wanted to be kind to the neighbors. I also tow 95% of the time.@ highway speed I am at about 2000.
Thanks Jack

yeah i have to be kind when i leave the house too, I cruise at 200rpm and 70 mph and I dont hear it over the radio at half volume, Outside you hear more turbo than rumble. But I have to admit I love the way it sounds.
