h-pop ??

2004 6.0 diesel Have you guys heard of a h-pop causing a hard start when hot? My tech has gone through the low pressure and high pressure oil system on this truck and replaced all o-rings and gaskets has replaced everything with new parts but the h-pop. still does it he tore it all down again and checked it all again and still does it. Just got new head gaskets and 190cc injectors and a powermax. he says he thinks the cylinder inside the h-pop may have turned or my have a small crack in it. does that sound like something that could happen to you guys.

Yep! My HPOP went out slowly, started by having lack of power when going WOT. Then finally on my way back from a canada fishing trip, stopped to refuel and had trouble restarting hot. Had to wait about 1/2hr until she got started.

Wow. I guess it pays to do your own work on the truck. Yes that does sound it could be a HPOP issue. Just to make sure, have you replaced the IPR valve or at least checked to see what it is doing??

I was referring that I had a HPOP leak, the pump had a small leak at first, but eventually took a dump. The hard to start when hot is a indication of a HPOP leak.

Yeah I dont want to come off as being harsh but there is no way you will be at 575hp with 190s and a powermax turbo. Even with a gogo manifold, you'll be lucky to break 500hp and I would be very surprised if you made over 520hp (that was backed up by some track results).

Just tryin to help you gauge your expectations. A lot of guys get disappointed by not properly setting their expectations.

Yea man no worries. A LOT of people thought the Powermax was the cure all turbo that could do anything and it really is just a little larger than stock and there have been a lot of folks that have been disappointed with the results they have gotten from a PM and 190s. I would recommend a FICM tune and getting your truck live tuned to get the most power and best drivability out of it.
