Best turbo choice for heavy towing???

Looking to upgrade to a new turbo and just wanted some opinions on which turbo to go with. The truck is studded with egr delete, 4" turbo back and a zoodad upgrade. The truck is used primarily for towing a 48' trailer and it scales out around 26k lbs when fully loaded. I was looking at the Aurora 3000 kit cause I would like to get away from the vgt. Opinions???

steer far away from ATS crap... look into the BD Thruster 2, it should work very well for you.

EDIT just checked MPD (maryland performance diesel) sells it for just under 2500 versis 2700 that xdp sells

X2 to Greg. Get a BD thruster II. It wont really give you more power per say but it will help drop those EGTs some so you can up the power output a little maybe.

It doesnt really need anymore power anyway, just want more reliability. I thought about even putting on an 03 model turbo since its less than half the price or less. I work on alot of the 6.0s here in the STL area, I just hate spending any money on my own truck. It just needs to get me to the track and back home again.

In my opinion, I would consider sticking with a vgt towing that kind of weight. maybe something like an o3 style powermax with a batmowheel. jmo. I can't remember reading a good review on the bd thruster recently.

Sorry but I dont think a powermax or powermax with a batmowheel is going to help his cause at all, its a glorified stock turbo and doesn't flow much more air over stock. An 03 turbo isnt any better than a 04+ turbo so you might as well not even change the turbo if you're thinking of that swap, thats a lot of weight you're going to want the air flow.

I know a few people running the bd turbo and they love it, plus it outflows the powermax and stock turbo by a landslide. Just finished a truck with 155's and a bd thruster 2 on a dually with idp tow tunes. He uses it to pull a 5ver all over and he absolutely LOVEs the truck. It spool like stock, its a turbo thats hard to beat for what you get for the price. Its more responsive down low than the trucks ive put a powermax on hands down. The non vgt's have different power ranges so you have to get used to it. Also to add, egt's up 9% grade with his trailer attached he reported wouldnt break 1250* he was glad I talked him out of the powermax.
