Question about Edge extention cable...
I'm ordering an Edge Insight CTS today, along with the overhead mount, adapter plate, and extention cable. The mount is the one that places the CTS over the rearview mirror on the windsheild. I know I need the extention cable to run from the OBDII port all the way up to the overhead location. But heres my question.... will the expandable probes (EAS), more specifically the EGT probe be long enough for the run up to the overhead location? I dont think the probe plugs into the main OBDII cable. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Is there a different extention cable i need? What do I need to pull off mounting with the EGT probe in that location? I've spent hours googleing the lenth of the EAS cables online and no luck. Thank you.

I just measured the EAS cable and it is 8ft long. I would think that would get you into the engine bay from an overhead mount.

Thanks for the response, bro. I think 8' might be a little short for my plan. I'm probably gonna use A-pillar mount for pyro guage.

So after rereading your original post, just to make sure, you know you connect the egt cable (4-6ft) to the end of the eas cable coming from the cts right? And then you add all future connections to the same spot, at the end of the eas cable.
The total length of cables together (egt + eas) is probably 12-14 ft. Even if you have to run the egt cable through the firewall under the dash and make your connection to the eas cable there, you could make it work. Up to you, good luck. |

now im confused. Does the EAS plug into the OBDII cable or does it have a seperate port on the back of the CTS unit itself?

I just did this mount tonight. The EAS cable is just long enough. The extension OBDII cable is plenty long. The mount looks good but I need to have another rear view mirror button added unless I want to look at my backseat instead of out the rear window.
