Head Stud Install ?

Hey guys, I am from Knoxville, TN. I am getting a head stud kit for my 06 F-250 6.0L. I know everyone charges different prices for labor but can anyone give me a general estimate of how much the install should cost? Do I need to give up an arm, leg, or my first born child?????????LOL

First born, not so much. I collected most of the parts to include studs, all gaskets, EGR delete, oil cooler rebuild for fairly cheep off e-bay and ORG members. After Rudy's did all the labor I was into the project a couple 3K ish. But if I was going to have half the engine apart I didn't want to do it a second time if I didn't have to.

leave the hg alone till they blow. then stud it.


but do egr delete and if the oil cooler needs changed due to deltas being over 15*.

then leave it if you are on a budget.

But if you have signs like I did, slowly start getting parts to make it softer on the back pocket. So when I does happen in the middle of the winter and your stuck borrowing a friends car with little to no heat, your ready.

Here in va we charge 1200 labor then 500 for arp studs and if u want new head gaskets and erg cooler but juat studs 1700 all day ford is 120 an hr i belive it pays 15 hrs i can double check for u

04 harley davidson f-250 arp headstuds oem gaskets,sb intake,edge cts egt probe,sct sf3 idp tuned/ php tuned,blue spring,zerex coolant swap,mbrp 5 inch xdp 6 inch tip,sinister egr cooler,new oem oil cooler,atlas 40 ficm,Painted cac tubes 7.3l wire loom,Diesel site coolant filter

Where are you in VA navy? I will probably buy a new oil cooler as well, no problems yet but would rather avoid any I can. I also have the egr delete but haven't installed yet. Waiting for the turbo gasket kit to get here.

I wouldn't bother with studs unless you have head gasket problems.

Back Bay Diesel Performance ‎in Va Beach charges 2800 dollars that includes: Arp studs, heads set to machine shop to get checked out, new ford head gaskets, new exhaust manifold and intake manifold gaskets, oil change+filter, new tunes if you have an Sct tuner.
