choosing an intake

In the past i had purchased an intake for my truck. With in an hour of installing the intake on my truck it made my service engine soon light come on. Is there a filter that would work for my truck and not cause it to throw a code.

Truck info? What kind of intake did you try? Do you know what the code was?

thanks. The intake was made by quadzilla. It through a code of excessive EGR pressure. I took it to ford and they looked at it for me and they replaced EGR valves, wiring harnessess, and even put a new computer in it. Ford never faulted the intake, i did. Within an hour of taking it off, the light went out.
