It's more of the custom tunes that are written onto it that make the difference

My Samsung SGH-I997 made me send this.

Its been documented by Innovative Diesel that after using a Bully Dog product can leave in some of its parameters when you go back to stock tune.

This may cause an issue when switching to a SCT device, the truck may have issues or may not allow the SCT to work to its full potential.

The local Ford dealer can, depends on their labor cost ($100-$150).

The other option is Powerhungry performance, you can roll back your PCM strategy to a older more desirable strategy.

It's about $100 at the Ford dealership. Anyone with a $10k Ford IDS tool can flash your PCM, but usually it's just the dealership who has them.

So the BullyDog is a flash tuner like the SCT? If so, then does the SCT not really put the truck back to stock even though you "return to stock" like the BullyDog?

Have also heard of the Edge/Banks stuff acting the same way. Is it a good idea to have the truck flashed "back to stock" before loading SCT?

I don't know about the others, but the Edge is an inline tuner, so it does not reflsh your truck. My truck used to have and Edge, and I did not have it reflashed before I loaded the SCT, and I had no problems whatsoever.
