Using a Scan Gauge II and I need a tune for an EGR delete.

I am buying an 06 that has a EGR delete and we had to flash the ECM back to stock. I want to use the Scan Gauge II to monitor. Can I get a SCT X3 to take care of the check engine light from the EGR valve and continue to use the Scan Gauge II.

I am not sure how the tuners work, can I install a tune and then disconnect the X3 and use my scan gauge? I don't really have any want for mod the truck anymore than the EGR delete code and maybe a fuel economy setting and a tow setting. Is this something I can do and still use the scan gauge II?

Is there a cheaper option that would does this other than the X3? I have already purchased the Scan Gauge II.

Yes, you can use the two together.
That is exactly the setup I have running right now.
You plug the tuner into the OBD2 port, load the tune, unplug the tuner put it away, then plug the scangauge2 up and run it.

SCT x3/SF3 w/ custom tunes is the only way to go for tuning a 6.0!!!

I suggest getting the tuner and custom tunes from Matt @ Gearhead Automotive Performance

here is a link to his website:

Emailing him is the best way to go as he has a day job.

You WILL NOT be dissapointed with this setup. Trust me

If your gonna use the ScangaugeII, your gonna need seperate fuel psi gauge, and if you plan on towing with a tuner or running a high hp tune, your gonna also want a EGT gauge.
