p0269 dtc code

hey guys my buddies 05 f250 gelled up 2 weeks and he had another friend of ours change fuel filters and tried to get it going and they had no luck, it would fire and run for about a minute or two and then die, then no luck starting it then let it sit for a day and it would start and run for about a minute or two then die, well he called me up and told me the issue and the fuel stations in our area have a tendency to be cheap and not run blended fuel in the winter they will run #2 with additive... well anyhow i went over the next weekend after warmed up with tools and my mac mentor to help him out and went to start and it was dead, lol he left the key on, so we put a charger on it for a while and it fired right off, ran great didnt miss or run rough at all, so we road tested it and just assumed it was the fuel being gelled and trying to start it created and air pocket in the system causing it to die after running for a while. well he called me today and said the truck started running wierd the day before and stumbled and shook like crazy under acceleration like he had an injector going out, so he parked it and waited for me to have a look see today, i cold started it and it ran rough, definetly had a miss, i hooked my mentor up and checked for fault codes and it had a p0269 code for cyl #3 contribution or balance malfunction, so i cleared the code and took on a road test and it missed the whole time, even after it was warm so stiction i dont think is an issue, the ficm voltage stayed at 47 volts or greater the entire time, about half way through my roadtest it threw another p0269 fault code for cyl 3 contribution, so beings i cannot do a cyl contribution test with my mentor and all cylinders pass the buzz test so i am assuming that #3 cyl injector is dead causing the issue. so the purpose of this post is basically asking the rest of you that have dealt with these issues before am i going about this the right way? and if so i plan on replacing the injector for my buddy and this will be the first 6.0 injector ive done so any insite or help is appreciated and as well as a parts list of items that i will be needing to complete this repair, (ie o rings, dummy plugs/standpipe o rings etc, cheapest place for injectors and o rings...etc etc). thanks alot in advance.

Since the FICM voltage stayed consistent I would have the same conclusion. #3 injector is done. Could be lack of FP when it gelled up took it out. I've had the same issue with my local fuel station before a couple years ago. -30* and they were only blending 10%. I was PO'd when my truck quit on the highway even though I had plenty of powerservice in the tank. Now I stop in and ask the manager about the blend prior to fueling up. Funny how that year I had troubles they said nobody else complained of problems, but ever since then they have been blending at 30% so I am told...

As far as where to buy injectors there are lots of options. I'd go with a motorcraft reman personally. Check the price at the dealer and if it's no more then $225 I'd pick it up locally. You'll pay a core charge but that's 100% refundable. If the dealer wants to much check out full force diesel. They sell stock motorcraft remans. A reman injector should come with coppers and o-rings.

Thanks shu, so will I need to get new standpipes and dummy plugs for the side I'm doin? Is the valve cover gaskets reusable or do I need a new one? Sorry for all the questions I just want to get everything in one trip.

well i took her apart tonight, go the #3 injector out all went well im very impressed with how easy it was to do, my question now is does anyone know or know where i can get torque specs for the injector hold down bolt, w pipe hold down bolts, dummy plug and stand pipe torques, valve cover bolt torques and icp sensor torques?
