which tuner

With all the recent releases of the new tuners which one would most people suggest for a mild HP increase and better fuel economy. Im still rather young and although i plan on doing alot of modding to my truck down the road when i have more money to burn but im looking for something that can light my tires on command but yet still safe for my tranny. I have been looking at hypertech max power for a while but is there a better one for under 400. Like i said i would much rather take a 50 horse less gain then decide to go with the most powerful programmer and end up paying 3k for a new tranny.

I really like my Bully Dog w/ Outlook but more than yer willing to spend. Most here seem to like SCT. You can get special tunes set up. Hang on.....others will tone in. Good Luck!

the superchips is pretty good but you should really get a set of gauges first then get a tuner... i like the Edge Evo 2 with the attitude display that way you get a programmer and a set of digital gauges in 1... also what engine do you have that will also determine which tuner is best for you

6.0 but i also get all my parts at retailers price so that might change a few things. And i have my exhaust ordered which i would get my gauges at the same time, guess i should have mentioned that. I run really wide tires which i know hurt the fuel economy but F that they look sweet.

with the extra wide tires im assuming bigger too... your already stressing the engine and tranny to turn those things....if you add some more power it will only be a matter of time before you have to do something to beef up the tranny... i would suggest a shift kit or valve body and a stronger torque converter at the least... just my 2cents

I have the SCT with canned tunes, not custom like most guys run here. Im in kinda the same situation as you, I want a ton of power, but right now it makes more sense to have something dependable, fun, and economical. I like my sct on street, not wild, but pretty dang strong. Economy isnt the best on it though, so I have been researchin the hypertech mex energy too. I read a thread before someone here said that they were getting 23mpg with their max energy, which I would like to confirm that with some more experience.

I am running the SCT! I highly recommend gauges prior to running any tuner. There are many good tuners out there. It all depends on what exactly you want out of your truck and I agree with the tranny upgrade as well. The SCT is the best tuner for your tranny. That is my 2 cents worth, but then again I drive an slow old granny truck! LOL

PPE all the way. Get a new with the 215HP file and stay away from the 200HP file.
