Finsihed up a EGR Delete and oil cooler. started up turbo is extremely loud. sounds like a bad whine. first off i know there is a leak on the Y pipe on the turbo and is there anyway possible that fins on the turbo are installed backwards? anybody in jax, fl want to make some extra money?! i'm done working on it. thanks

Don't give up... Walk away an come back to it later. It is a b$tch but if you where able to do the delete then you can fix this problem.

You ask about the turbo "fins" being installed backwards.. Did you take the turbo apart to clean it?

I would say to re-check the connections of the pipes an snug everything down. If you can't get something tight you might have to loosen all the piping an wiggle/man handle it into place, then tighten it all down again.

I know how everything gets frustrating and after your tired an sick of working on it you just wanna say F$CK IT...

Hang in there.... good luck

hope you got it taken care of. I had the same problem did the egr delete and got everything put back together. went to test drive it and heard a whistle or whine coming from engine. I thought i messed the whole job up until i remember i forgot to tighten the bolts on the y pipe. tightened her up and it was good to go.
