i dont know about the "looney" tunes, but i can tell you that with my ultra comp file from spartan i can will easily 1200* just getting up to speed on city streets, and if i put my foot in it for a quick burst to get ahead of traffic i can peg my pyro 1500*... i would not recommend running a "hot" file without gauges.

you can set the egt alarm, but i dont think the commander will defuel an sct programmed ECM, i think the defuel function only works if you are using it to control the Xzillerador (or however they spell their edge knock off)

That's correct, it will only defuel if you've got a power module hooked up to it. Basically its just a stand alone gauge system with any type of flash programmer.

you could run the looney but just dont stay in it long

with any of my race files I see between 600-800* EGT during "normal" driving. If you stay out of the throttle you'll be fine without gauges, and like stump said if you do get on it, keep it down to just a few seconds at a time you'll be fine.

thanks for your input...do you think 1300 to 1400 is a safe spot for the alarm.

yeah once u hit that you need to back out

I set my alarm at 1250*. But I don't necessarily back out of that right away, you've got a few seconds after that before it becomes necessary to back out IMO. I just like to get the audible warning a bit early.
