194K whats the best?

My 04 has 194k miles and I wanna start doin some mods. I know when I get my tax check I will be gettin an egr delete and exhaust. I was wonderin whats the best tuner for a truck with this many miles on the stock head gaskets and bolts. I don't have the money to put new hg and stud it but I also am not worried bout big numbers either. Its my dd so something reliable is my concern.

Here is some reading material for you, PLEASE READ IT AND UNDERSTAND IT!!
Things to consider about owning a 6.0L

Check your ECT/EOT delta. Check your fuel psi. Check your FICM volts. If any of these are out of tolerance, fix them before they run into more expensive repairs.

Most members go with either a Edge INSIGHT CS/CTS for monitoring a butt load of parameters and if you go with the expandable cable accessories you will be able to monitor fuel psi and EGT. The other is a scangaugeII, then you will need to buy a separate EGT and fuel psi gauge.

If you prefer analog gauges and are gonna tune and/tow with your truck, then I would suggest ECT,EOT,Fuel psi, EGT, TFT, and Boost to start with.

IMO, your better off with the Edge Insight CS/CTS or ScangaugeII set-ups. You'll be able to monitor more and read/clear codes.

After you have your monitor solution, spend your money on fixing any issues and updating and OEM upgraded parts. Then your ready for the "fun" stuff.

For tuner, SCT with custom tunes is what works best for the 6.0. Stay far away from any tuner that has "shift on the fly" programming, may cause premature damage to your trans.

Most members go with the X-3 SCT with custom tunes and the Edge Insight CS/CTS as a monitor.

SCT does make a tuner/monitor combo, like the Livewire #9600 and TSX #8900. Do a search, you can find their "pro's/Con's" in order to make a decision.

Well I was gonna spend some money on upgrades but I had a problem last week and thought it was water in the fuel but obviously I was wrong. Guess my extra cash will be goin toward fixin the truck instead of upgradin it. Thanks anyways guys.
