No idea man to be honest, your gonna have to run diagnostics to find anything out, there are 100's of things it could be. If the truck is running fine, it is likely nothing major. Let us know if we can help once you find out what code you have.

I am gona run the diagnostic check tomorrow so surely ill know something for sure, the truck ran fine for the 80 mile ride home from work so thats what makes me think that its nothing major but not really willing to take any chances.

were you on the highway?

you need a monitor to check what the oil and coolant temperature delta is. The newer flashes make the wrench light go off if the oil and coolant temp delta exceeds 15*. This warrants a new oil cooler because it is clogged.

PS you need a good scan tool such as a snap on, auto engenuity, or a Ford IDS (dealer) to read "soft" codes that set off the wrench light. Theyre store in the pcm so they should still be there even though the light isnt on.

A generic code reader cannot access soft codes

see if you can get a code, chances are you might not get it. it can be alot of things.. I chased 3 wrench lights, one was a bad throttle pedal, the 2nd was a bad engine wiring harness, the 3rd was a bad FICM.....

I was on the interstate when the wrench showed up, i just recently got the truck, so not really sure of any issues other than the egr delete, everything else is stock. My plans were to do some upgrades so this stuff would not happen or at least if something were to happen i would know it and know what it was, but at this point, i was a little late.

With this information, my guess is the EGR Delete Kit, without a tuner you will get an intermittent CEL on most 05 model year trucks. A SCT Tuner will fix the issue no problem if thats the case.

i've never seen a wrench light with a stock truck and an egr delete, pretty sure all emission devices are programmed to throw hard codes/ check engine lights... correct me if im wrong.

get a good scanner on it.
