In cab noise S&B vs. stock

For anyone who put a S&B intake on their truck, how much louder is the noise in the cab? I bought the truck with a S&B and just wonder if the stocker is quieter. Must be getting old, just want quiet.

In cab, I can't even hear the intake. Now with the hood up, and me standing right in front of the intake, it's just a little noticable.

Yea I cant hear my S&B whistle or anything. If you want a quiet truck then you bought the wrong one IMO or at least need a new one.

I love the sound of the 6.0, just seems like the turbo whine is loud in the cab. Just wondering if the stock intake is better at hushing the turbo. Coming from a 97 7.3 with tymar and a 4" ex dumped in front of the rear wheel, the turbo was really only noticable with the pass. window down. Not the high pitch sing I'm getting in cab with the 6.0. Trust me I love the 6.0, it is the last "diesel" sounding diesel on the road.

I misunderstood what noise you were referring to. I'm not sure what to tell you about how to quiet down the turbo whine. I believe that is a characteristic of the VGT design. I guess you could maybe switch to a non-VGT turbo. It would be expensive and not worth it IMO unless you are going after more power with larger injectors.

that wont help him, they have larger compressor wheels so the in cab turbo pitch will be even louder!

i have the stock box on mine and when i had an 05 turbo in my truck i could hardly hear my turbo from inside the truck, the intake definitely adds more compressor whine inside the cab.
