Just bought an 07 F250 with 6.0
Had it 3 days, then bought the MBRP part#6212 turbo back exhaust system (cat delete) and SCT Livewire Tuner. Other than those, and an EGR delete, what else do you suggest? I do know the 6.0s weakness are the head bolts and I want to have them studded but probably wont happen right away. Also noticed that it has the Gold coolant in it. Should I flush it and refill it with something like a pre-mixed TRP (pinkish red looking) ?? Ideas and opinions are welcome! |

Gauges are the single most important thing you can add to this truck to detect issues while they are small and before they manifest themselves into a MUCH more expensive repair.
Check the "basic info" link in my signature line for more information. If you change coolant (which is recommended), you have to: 1: make sure that your replacement coolant is a CAT EC-1 rated ELC coolant (Many choices here) 2: Buy concentrated coolant (otherwise you can't get a 50/50 mix) 3: Flush out the Gold garbage thoroughly (also strongly recommended) |

The SCT 9600 Livewire mounts to the truck and shows up to like 5 gauges on one screen at a time. That was a big plus to me. Thanks for the info in your sig line. I'll read up on those!

What size exhaust did u order? I have MBRB 4" TB, I like it but it kindve reminds me of my Z71 with straights on it. Lol it pops a lot at wot.

Just read those stickies and get the eot(engine oil temperature) update for the livewire. That'll tell you mainly what you need to do. Other than that, floor it at least once a week to work the turbo and enjoy.

I bought the MBRP 4 inch with the muffler but not the cat. A friend had the same exhaust on his 6.0 and I really liked the sound.

Just listen to NYC & PGreenSVT.....I read everything they had to offer and the Tech Section is a great place to go. Get some custom tunes for that livewire. There's a bunch of good tuners out there like Matt @ Gearhead, Vivian @ QuickTricks, Eric @ Innovative. Most ppl get a good tow tune, DD street tune, and a race tune.....but the combos are endless depending on what you'll use the truck for. I would also get a 6.4L Banjo Bolts/FBR Blue Spring b/c it makes a difference on the low-end IMO. Where are you located at? ![]() ![]() Im from Cincinnati Ohio. Thanks to everybody on powerstroke.org, I learned abou the blue spring upgrade and the 6.4 banjos. They were the first mods I did last week and couldnt believe the difference in those things alone! Then I did a 4" MBRP exhaust (cat delete) and installed my SCT Livewire. Also flushed and filled the cooling system (another thanks to everybody on here) and installed a coolant filter. Next step is to delete the EGR and Im going to replace the oil cooler while Im in there. Speaking of, eho do you all recommend I use for an EGR delete kit and an oil cooler? MKM Customs sells both in one kit together, made by Sinister. Any opinions here? |
