straight piping stock exhaust.

i cant afford aftermarket exhaust right now, but i would like to straight pipe my stock. anyone done this? what were the results?
also any advice tips on doing it?

I did it to mine, dumped 4" straight out in front of the passenger rear wheel with a 5" x 18" chrome tip on it. Sounds great, but he fuel economy dropped a bit, from 15 to about 14.25 mpg.

My Cat Delete and Muffler Delete should be here tomorrow and I plan on doing it then. I was in the same boat. Not too worried about EGT's so no need for 4", and budget wise doing the deletes made more sense. I'll post how things go. I got both delete pipes plus shipping for 150.

I did this and it was nice for a little while but now I want bigger louder. I dint hear any difference in the cab but windows down I can hear a little more turbo and if something or someone is next to me I can hear the growl a little bouncing off

hey I don't know if you have price shopped but you can get a 4" turbo back aluminized for 250 or a tad more. Just thought I would mention it, but the delete pipes work. I have a cat delete on our 04 f450 and then I cut the muffler off and put a turn down tip on it right in front of the axle. Exhaust will be your favorites upgrade u do to your 6.0. It by far was my favorite.

install it your self. common hand tools and a sawzaw will get the job done. cut the old system off and bolt the new one on your self. i did it by myself and had alot of trouble with the 4" down pipe, as long as you get a system with the 3.5" down pipe like mbrp, install is a breeze. have a buddy help and i bet you could install it in less than 2 hours. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! or drive down to ohio and i will help you haha, do a search on ebay or check the site vendors for deals. i paid 330 shipped for a 4" ss 409 system no muffler or cat turbo back and a 6" tip delivered. ps....do NOT buy stainless steel 409, it surface rusts immediately
